Memories

Great memories of Clacton. The Pavilion where I entered a junior talent competition in 1952- and 53 and 54 - Ronnie Mills and his orchestra who was working for Jack Payne. Cordies restaurant opposite the pier - great cream teas. The huge Butlins camp and the four wheel two seater bikes. Horse drawn carriages on the front. Coming up from Tower Pier, London via Southend- on the "Queen of the Channel" and landing at Clacton Pier. (I think the ship then did a half day cruise to France before returning to Clacton to take passengers back to London, or Southend.) Staying in a caravan at Valley caravan site in little Clacton. As I say, really good memories of our holidays in Clacton.
